"Four Dead In O-hi-o"

A news compiler told me that today was the 50th anniversary of the Kent State shooting, when four students were killed (and nine wounded) by members of the Ohio National Guard, when they fired into a crowd of student demonstrators at Kent State University.

In honor of the day, here's the song written by Neil Young in reaction to the event, and performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

  2. I remember the photos from that day so well. I remember the photos too of the flower children putting daisies down the barrels of the rifles pointing at them.

  3. I remember that day clearly... I was 13 years old and saw every bit of news about it on television. My heart was especially pierced when they showed the screaming/crying girl who was kneeling by her friend. I thought, my gosh, what has this country come to!! I remember all the video of the flower children, and wanted to be one of them What a time in our history all of this was.
