Yuletide Strange And Sundry

A collection of offbeat photos I've accumulated over the past month:

This inflatable reindeer was taller than the house, and creepy to walk by

I'm guessing these inflatables look great on top of the porch when they're blown up. Deflated, not so much.

It looks like the dollar store has officially jumped on the 'create a gift set' bandwagon. There was a whole aisle devoted to things you could combine to add to a basket.

Last weekend I was stopped at a light, and noticed the vehicle next to me had functioning Christmas lights zip tied around its frame.

Do you think if everyone stopped for pizza we could all get along better?

  1. That huge inflatable can be titled Rudolph on steroids. I kinda liked the inflatables hanging. Santa looked like he was purposely positioned so he could peek in the window. I too saw a van with working lights. Guess that's a thing now, along with cars with antlers and red noses attached.

    1. I hadn't thought about Santa looking in the window...checking if those people are naughty or nice on a daily basis :-)

I've seen cars with antlers driving around. I've also seen some with wreaths attached to the front grill.

  2. Think I prefer lights... it was fun to see my neighborhood switch from orange Halloween lights to Christmas lights....though we personally just have Christmas ones

  3. Pizza on Earth. I like that. That's t-shirt material. It would go along with my Whirled Peas t-shirt.

    1. I bet you could find a custom shirt designer who would put that on one for you.

  5. Yep, that's the Godzilla of Rudolph's. The hanging Santa looks a little frail and tortured. Oxygen and air is good for inflatables too. Linda in Kansas

  7. That's one scary huge reindeer. I don't like plastic blow up yard decor. I have this immense urge to approach with a straight pin. The deflated, flat and flacid all over the yards during the day, looking like colorful trash piles.

    1. I agree that deflated blow ups look very trashy.

  9. We got a lot of those deflatables in the neighborhood too. And they do look weird.
Have a very merry Christmas, Kathy!
