It's Not You, It's My Computer

For the past few days, there are a couple of blogs in my reader that all of a sudden won't let me access them. Instead, I get an error message that says something about a secure connection failure and data authenticity failure. (For what it's worth, that error message went so far over my head it could have been written in Ancient Greek.)

I normally use the Firefox browser, but I also have the problem with Safari. The suggestions I found on the internet were no help. So the moral of the story is that if I normally comment on your posts and you haven't seen me lately it's not that I don't want to. It's that I can't.

I hope like so many of the internet issues I've encountered I hope this one will go away soon.

  1. Sorry you're having the issues with the blogs. No fun, that.

  2. They come and they go, the issues with blogger and so many online places. Usually I go to bed when things are fouled, and maybe in the morning everything is back to a.o.k. And if not, well, oh well.

  5. Ouch! I know the problem. I have to use my desktop or my MacBook Air to comment. If I use my ipad or iphone, it won't recognize me. I also have a terrible time trying to comment on some Wordpress blogs.

    1. I can't comment with my Ipad or Iphone either.

  6. The commenting problem I had on your blog was a "third party cookie" problem. I typically have third party cookies blocked. But you can make exceptions. So I have blogger.com on the exception list.
And something changed recently that started these problems up.

    1. I wonder if some programmer peon made a typing mistake?

  7. I was on my "Brave" browser when I typed the comment above. I thought I had changed a setting that would fix that. Apparently not.
I did notice that your site has a google icon instead of a blogger icon in the BRAVE browser settings. Are you still signed into Google?
I have a problem that shows me not signed into Blogger but when I hit "sign in" it takes me into blogger like I'm signed in already. To much fun!

    1. I have three or four Gmail accounts-each has a different purpose. When I get the not signed in message it's usually because Blogger is trying to use the incorrect account. (But each time it takes me ten minutes to figure that out.)

  8. OK I did it. But I had to select my Google account to get myself to show up.

  9. What normally happens in these occasions is that a cable somewhere had been trapped under a chair or desk and all the comments and blogs are held up in the cable. Try moving your chair away. Or it could be that someone at the other end is standing on a cable. In a while the problem solves itself when the individual has moved on.

    God bless.

  11. It's tough to figure out what to do. I am sure they know they have glitches, but since this is a free service what can one do?!
