Earlier in the week I learned that today was National Root Beer Float Day, and right away I knew that Hubby Tony and I would be celebrating. I'm always down to observe an event that revolves around yummy food or drink, but this celebration would kill two birds with one stone. It would get rid of the two aluminum bottles of Fitz's root beer taking up space in the refrigerator.
Tony bought the bottles about a month ago to include in a gift basket, but in the end decided not to include them. That gift basket's loss was our gain.

Glad you enjoyed the day
ReplyDeleteI love root beet floats. But if there is root beer and ice cream in the house, they magically disappear in an instant.
ReplyDeleteFor that very reason I don't keep ice cream in the house. Our refrigerator isn't very big, and the bottles got shoved behind a couple of large things so I couldn't see them every time I opened the door.
DeleteI do like rootbeer floats. If I have one, has to be vanilla ice cream and I use a glass that I frost in the freezer first, for at least 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of your requirements. My glass was frosted, but doesn't show in the photo.
DeleteOne of my favorite chuikdhood treats, right uop there with chocolate ice cream floats. My grandson told me he had a grape soda float. He was all ga-ga about it.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a grape soda float, but I bet it would be wonderful.
DeleteThat looks really good! I can't remember the last time I had a root beer float! Probably the last time I was at A & W which I don't think even exist anymore!
ReplyDeleteIt had been a long time for me, too.
