Today it was the day to do my middle of the month Aldi grocery run. A lot of other people must have had the same idea, because the parking lot was busier than usual for a Friday. Eventually I slid my CR-V into a spot on the side of the store pretty far down from the door.
I was inside the store for about 20 minutes. When I came out I noticed that some inconsiderate jerk had impinged on my parking space:
It was difficult, but I sucked everything in and was able to slide through the small gap between the vehicles, open my car door halfway, and squeeze into my seat. However, the truck was pretty grimy and I had to brush streaks of dirt off of my coat before I carefully pulled out of the space so I wouldn't hit the space hog.
Five years ago today: Party Time!
Oh yes! That irritates my husband no end too.
ReplyDeleteJust Art...not you? :-)
DeleteKathy, how annoying, and the dirty clothes! Fortunately you were able to squeeze in. The last resort would be to climb in from the passenger seat.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the way my car is designed, going in through the passenger side would have been even more challenging.
DeleteWhat a jerk
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice way to put it :-)
DeleteIt is annoying when people do not park properly in the marked spaces.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I agree.
DeleteI think the dirty clothes part is worse than sucking in your breath to squeeze in the car. I hope you checked to see if a passenger banged your door when getting out of that other car.
ReplyDeleteOh, I DID check! Nothing.
DeleteThis is a problem I see all the time here with people driving HUGE vehicles and trying to park in compact spots. I park as far out from a store as possible, always pulling in so that I need not back out because I cannot see around these gargantuan vehicles. WHY do people need such big vehicles?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, an even worse problem is older parking lots that are striped for the smaller cars that were more popular decades ago. But by parking away from the store you're protecting your vehicle AND getting some exercise walking in and out.
DeleteBoth sides of you were far too rude.
ReplyDeleteI love Aldi produce.
ReplyDeleteOur store has such good organic stuff that I love.
And some non-organic produce that I also love.
The deals. Just love them.
Did you get anything good to eat there?
Sorry about your coat?
Why didn't you go through the passenger side?
Although, looking back at the photo,
the passenger side doesn't look like a lot of room either.
Ack! Anyway, Happy Holidays and boogie boogie.
This was a basics stocking-up trip...canned goods, cereal, laundry detergent, and the like. I'm not as limber as I used to be, and it would be very hard for me to navigate from the passenger side over the huge center console to get to the driver's seat.
