I am happy to inform her, and everyone else, that when Hubby Tony and I went back to the same grocery store tonight I saw an associate with a tablet at the entrance door accounting for customers when they walked in. (And his counterpart was at the exit door tabulating customers as they walked out.)

good to know.
ReplyDeleteGood!
ReplyDeleteThey've been counting customers at the local Walmart and not checking receipts as customers leave. But last time I was there, they were back to receipt checking. They don't clean carts or anything there, never have.
ReplyDeleteI only get a couple of items at Walmart and don't bother with a cart. I've seen tons of people take them, though. The lack of cleanliness must not bother them.
DeleteBut are they cleaning the shopping carts before you take one? That's what the greeters at Whole Foods, Target, and SaveMart, Sprouts, the stores where I shop, do. They greet, make sure I take a clean cart, offer hand sanitizer, and make sure the store is not over crowded. Those are the stores I want to patronize. They are following California's protocols.
ReplyDeleteSince for the most part my trips are small I just carry the items in my arms. I find it's easier to keep my social distance if I don't have a huge cart to push. (At Aldi today a woman swerved right in front of me and I was able to quickly step to the side.) No matter what store I go on I will NOT use a hand basket, which I don't believe is ever sanitized.
DeleteWow! You must not buy much. Since I only shop once a week now, my basket it so full by the time I finish. Then it's about 6 to 8 bags that go back into the basket that I take out to the car. I didn't shop at all last week so I will be at three stores this next week. But I will only go to one store a day. Our health department just posted numbers of cases by zip code, and our zip code has very low numbers. I will continue to stay close to home.
DeleteOne of the issues with eating a predominantly plant-based diet is that there is no good way to stock up on fresh vegetables and fruits. I also hit multiple stores, purchasing the sale items/what's freshest at each. Although when I go out I may come back home with four or five large bags, each store only requires one of two.
DeleteI have no idea what the stores do here; I haven't been in a store since early March. Since hubby is so much younger, he does the shopping, I do the sanitizing. And hi! Yes, I'm back, after a 9 mo. blogging hiatus! Hope you are well, all things considered!
ReplyDeleteHello! I was THRILLED to see your name pop up in my reader! Hope to see a post from you soon, too :-)
DeleteApparently, I had my blog set at private from last fall. Dur. LOL It's open now, so please come and visit when you can! Thanks!
