At least, the men watched. Before the game started I gathered enough projects to keep me busy sitting on the couch, because for me the game is something that happens between breaks in commercials. My pile of projects included:
- Today's newspaper
- Newspaper crossword puzzle pages from the past few days
- Laptop computer and a stack of 'memory jogger' reminders of tasks to do online
- A week's worth of ads and magazines to go through

I read a book and only watched the commercials which were a lot of fun. I felt so sorry for the Broncos though.
ReplyDeleteEven though the Broncos are professional athletes and got handsomely paid for their time, I felt sorry for them, too. The Super Bowl is a huge stage to fail so badly on.
DeleteHeard you didn't miss much Kathy!
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Even the real football watchers in the family were getting bored as the game wore on.
DeleteI usually watch for the commercials, too!
ReplyDeleteI thought there were fewer good commercials than there usually are
DeleteDid you know that while we Canadians can watch the game we can't see your commercials? It is so frustrating. We can only see them online. We are treated to rather dull normal Canadian ones. Yesterday as I was working on a blog post my son texted to ask if I was watching. As we are from the west coast we both were leaning to a Seattle win. Anywho, I left the blog and turned it on and knit. For me the game is something that happens before and after the half-time show.
ReplyDeleteI did NOT know about the commercial issue!
DeleteI was enjoying the halftime show when an acquaintance called to chat. (She had no idea the Super Bowl was on.) I left the room to talk, and missed the last half of the performance
