Go Away, Summer!

The hot weather has really overstayed its welcome this year. Instead of the balmy 78°F average high we should have, today it got up to 90°.  In addition, the humidity added another eight degrees to the "feels like" temperature.

It was nice enough over the weekend that we opened up the house, but since then the highs have been inching up a little bit every day.  This morning after breakfast I closed everything up and turned the air conditioner back on. (UGH!) The first day of autumn on Thursday won't feel like it because the above-average temperatures are supposed to hang on through the weekend.

I'm really looking forward to next week, when it's forecast to get back to normal

    Fall is my favorite season. It always seems to take forever to get here.

    What? 90 in September? That's just too hot. I hope you're blessed with some cooler weather soon.

      The weather guy says cooler stuff is coming...but not until next Monday.

    I'm pretty sure we will go from 90 to 50 with not much in between!

    It hasn't been as hot here as I've been hearing about from folks. This year really sounded like a hot one for most.

    We barely got summer here. It did not really arrive til mid July then left early, so we got severely cheated this summer. I am bitter over it. Lol.

      Man if there was a way for me to send some of our heat up your way I'd do it in a heartbeat! I'm STILL wearing sleeveless shirts and shorts.

    It always over stays it's welcome here. Our temps are lower than yours here in NC but the humidity is choking. Friday night it was 98%. Yesterday it was 96%. I need that to get out of here.
