A while back I bought this from my local Aldi:
The salad kit had chopped kale with slivers of red cabbage and carrots. There was a small bag of sunflower seeds, and a pouch of tangy dressing. I added a couple of handfuls of dried cranberries, mixed everything together, and called it a meal for Hubby Tony and me.

Very healthy, although it wouldn't be a whole meal for me, likely it should be.
ReplyDeleteWe're trying to eat more produce each day. Between the fiber in the kale and the protein in the seeds this salad stuck with me for a long time.
DeleteI haven't seen this at the market yet. I read about somebody bringing those to a party and I didn't know what they meant by "salad kit". Now I do. Thank you. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :-) I avoid most kits, because I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce.
DeleteKale rocks!
ReplyDeleteIt pretty much does
DeleteSounds so good. My brother and his wife are vegans so when I went up Christmas, it was a kale salad for Christmas dinner. It had pomegranite seeds in it among many other things. So I got into it, buy kale, add my own add ins. I do love pomegranites but now I guess they are out of season, so I add apple bits and sunflower seeds. Having it bagged sure sounds easier.
ReplyDeleteI love pomegranate seeds. And sunflower seeds and apples. It all sounds lovely :-)
DeleteYum! The extra stuff in it makes it pretty and colorful too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of pretty and colorful.
DeleteLove the title of this post! Don't love kale quite as much...
ReplyDeleteI just tried this for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I added a bit of smoked turkey to up the protein quotient and it was tasty and satisfying.
