Every day for a year, starting on my 49th birthday, I did something I've never done before.
Now that I've completed that project, here's more of my adventures.

This Is Why I'm Spending All My Time Inside...
We're having a double-barreled combination of record breaking high temperatures and a massive cicada invasion.
(Make sure you turn up the volume so you can appreciate what we've been hearing for the last few days!)
OMG those are ugly....and noisy too. I think I better get my work finished here in Illinois...because they'll probably be on their way up here soon enough. Summer never has been my favorite season. I know people love summer...but I must be an alien...I just can't seem to get into it. Maybe it's the bugs and the heat. It's 95 today...unusually hot for this time of year. Hey...I heard Missouri had a light earthquake last night. Did you feel it? I think a 4.5 on the scale. Hope you're finding fun things to do indoors. Sorry about the ugly bugs.
The 13 yr bunch has started coming out in Clarksville too. I actually kind of like them. We have the "dog days" cicada that come out every year in late summer too. But they are a lot quieter (relatively speaking) than the 13 year screamers. LOL
Oh my goodness, my heart goes out to you. These bugs are so noisy! Do they also eat up the plants and leaves? Hopefully they'll all move on soon... or die!

We get those sometimes...but only a couple of them..which is plenty! ha. It's hot and humid here ..95 today. So humid...ugh! Where's spring? ha.
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived on Long Island, NY we would get cicadas but not that bad! Wow, hope that doesn't happen every year.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance, stop by my blog tomorrow (wednesday) I'm having a blog hop for just us boomers.
Almost unbelievable.....we've got them too.....every 17 yrs they say, but seems like no one gave the bugs the memo...smiles.
ReplyDeleteoh that would drive me crazy...hang in there Kathy.
