My original engagement/wedding band set came from the store where a friend's father worked. Both bands had split shanks (bands that split into two strands at the top) which nestled together beautifully. After the wedding I had them soldered together and the two became one ring.
On two different milestone anniversaries Tony traded in the engagement ring diamond for a larger one. I am thrilled with the ring as it is now, but for this latest milestone together we chose two stackable rings with rows of chip diamonds and attaching them to either side of the old ring. Every time I look down at my finger I am amazed at the difference.

Some time during our trip to California Tony looked down and discovered his plain gold wedding band had fallen off. It's not the first time it's been misplaced in the last 45 years, so after putting out some feelers he came home and pulled out a replacement he purchased a couple of decades ago. However, after losing some weight the replacement is now too large for his finger.
The first time it happened the original turned up and Tony happily went back to wearing it. I told him if this time if it didn't I would take him to the jewelry store for an upgrade.
Five years ago today: It's A Ruby Kind Of Day
It looks very nice. I assume that's gold between the two rows of diamonds. I like the different look.
ReplyDeleteWe upgraded Claudia's ring a few anniversaries back. Maybe it's time to do it again. We're hitting 49 this month so next year would be the perfect time.
When we shopped for the original ring yellow gold was the most popular. Now it's not, but I wouldn't change anything.

ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! The rings look lovely. I didn't have an engagement ring, and we couldn't afford any diamonds, so we still have our matching wedding bands. I am so NOT a jewelry person that I'm not too sure what I would do if I lost my wedding band. I did lose my watch and replaced it, though, so would probably get a new ring, but would be heartbroken that it no longer matched Terry's.

Hey Kathy! It's dead easy. For mine, I bake on high/more 27 mins, in the sealed position, uncovered. There are some that cover, others that bake for longer. It's a game of test and play for the batter added. My bakes don't have eggs or dairy and 27 minutes so far, works for the best for me. YMMV - that said, I'm happy to help in any way. Happy Playing! It's the best! PS: I keep the pressure cooker sealed about ten or so minute after it finishes. Again though, some don't.
