Good Grease!

The National Today website told me that today was National Greasy Food Day. I didn't need any encouragement to celebrate.

    1. And don't forget the hush puppies. Do you know those? Fried balls of corn meal mush.

    2. Aha ... I wondered what those balls were. I thought they were meat balls or Scotch eggs. Do you have Scotch eggs in the USA?

Over here Hush Puppies are a brand of shoes.

      God bless.

    3. Yes, I've had both meat balls and Scotch eggs. Both wonderful. Here's an interesting explanation development of the Hush Puppy brand name:

    4. That's brilliant. I did not know the connection between the shoes and the fried dough balls. We don't have them in the UK, but have something similar called dumplings - dough balls we put in soup.

Now I am hungry ... again.

      God bless.
