National Grammar Day

Boynton

I'm a bit of a language Nazi, so I was pleased when I learned that today is National Grammar Day. I'll be celebrating by making sure my subjects and verbs agree, using apostrophes correctly, and generally avoiding grammar gaffes.

  1. I meant to get my Grammar Day cards out in time but what with all the Grammar Day sales and promotions at the stores, wrapping the Grammar Day gifts, and getting the turkey on the table, gosh ... I plum ran out of time.

  2. I swear Google and that darn auto correct is the biggest gaffer of all.

    1. I try to read things before I hit 'send' or 'publish' to make sure something's not corrected in a way I DON'T want it. Usually I catch the mistakes.

  3. I have a professor who is very particular about grammar. In fact, she took the time after our first essay to give us a quick grammar lesson. I'm surprised she didn't mention anything about it in class today. If I had known it was National Grammar Day, I would have brought it up.

    1. Aw, it's a shame you couldn't have educated your professor :-)

  4. Oh dear! I might fail at this. Grammar was never my strong suit.
