Your brain is constantly receiving messages from your body, and even simple things like how you move can make a difference. As people get older they tend to slouch, which tells your brain that something is wrong, and it's harder to have positive thoughts. Good posture (a straight back, shoulders back, and the head directly over the shoulders) boosts your confidence and reduces stress and fatigue
Five years ago today: Doing It Right
You mean our mothers were RIGHT?
ReplyDelete[Big eye roll]....yes they were.
DeleteThanks! I'm sure you're absolutely right. Kathy, aloha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know.
ReplyDeleteThis is good information and good to know...I must do better!! Happy Sunday
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm attempting to stand tall I really notice when other people aren't.
DeleteYES! Stand tall, shoulders back, lead with your hips. It's a huge thing for your well being. That's why it's so important to exercise because that helps keep every thing aligned, strengthened, able to hold you in place better. Eyes, nose, toes, all in a line. It's good advice for the whole body.
ReplyDeleteI think strengthening my core has really helped with my posture.
DeleteSo I had this sorta hump going on many years ago. Doctor fixed it and it was soooooo nice to have good shoulders again. Good on ya' for taking care of your body. That's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYea for 'good shoulders' :-)
DeleteIt was so good. And I could lay on my back and do this one yoga thing that I hadn't been able to, prior.
DeleteI never was a straight sitter. Maybe I'll try it again. But I went down the rabbit hole and found this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6xbXOp7wDA It's two hours long but it holds your attention all the way through. It's about dopamine and addiction. And the addiction can be anything. The gal in the video had an addiction to romance novels. It's all about dopamine.
ReplyDeleteSome days I think I have a real addiction to chocolate
DeleteGood information. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Stand straight, stand tall is good advice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI immediately sat up straighter.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteIt's funny how we don't realize we are slouching until someone reminds us to straighten up! I also need reminding to relax my shoulders!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why people carry stress in their shoulders and neck. I know I do.
DeleteLike Jeanette said ⬆️. We often don’t know unless we see ourselves in a photo. I’m very conscious about posture but at times I catch myself slouching.
ReplyDeleteGood reminder Kathy.
One of my biggest aha moments was walking past a store's display window and catching a glimpse of myself all hunched over.
DeleteI am a huge believer in standing up straight.. I am constantly reminding others in my fam to straighten up!
ReplyDeleteAnd if your family members are anything like mine they don't take kindly to the reminders.
DeleteI need to fix my posture.
