Since then Wednesday after lunch has been designated as Bath Time. I am happy to report that this very chill cat has taken the whole thing in stride.
This week Hubby Tony was luring him down the hall with treats, but all of a
sudden Smokey Joe figured out what was going on. I was able to pick him up and
snuggle him against my chest while I carried him into the shower. Tony closed
the door behind us, and the process began.
After he was released from the shower Smokey Joe walked around the house shaking his legs, then found a spot to sit down and clean himself with his tongue. Eventually the excess water was gone, and he was ready for time on Tony's lap.

DeleteSounds like it went well-cats do not like showers or baths I think they usually clean them selves
ReplyDeleteCats do a great job of keeping themselves clean, but I guess sometimes they need a little extra help.

DeleteI am thoroughly impressed by Smokey Joe! A cat that walks into the shower willingly is definitely deserving of that 'Best Cat Award.'

ReplyDeleteDid you and Tony figure out your post bath treats!? I hope the skin issue clears up soon so the baths can end- he is a trooper but I am sure he is ready to wrap up the weekly baths!
