This morning Mevely wrote about a half birthday she received, and finished her thought with "Funny, I don't remember growing older".
I replied, telling her the statement made me think of the beautiful Fiddler on the Roof song "Sunrise, Sunset", with the line "I don't remember growing older / When did they?" I appreciated the song's sentiment when I was in my 20s, but now decades later I understand it on a whole deeper level.
Since I've been humming the song all day, I thought you might like to share it with me.
Thank you do much for this shout out! This is one of my all time favorite songs. I agree, it gets better, more relatable as time goes by. (How's that for another earworm ...lol)
ReplyDeleteAn earworm for another day :-)
DeleteWell, the years do creep up suddenly, don't they?
ReplyDeleteAnd 'suddenly' gets faster the older I get.
