I have a cup of coffee with breakfast and again mid-afternoon. A while back I
decided to reduce my caffeine and switched to the smaller cups that came with
our
Fiestaware
place settings. (Tony prefers to use the larger
mugs).

Cups small and large

However, for all other warm drinks I like to drink out a mug. The one I reach
for the most came from a coffee crawl we went to three years ago. It fits well in my hand and
keeps liquids warm.

BFF mug |
Last week Tony and I went to the Botanical Garden, where I redeemed a coupon
for the annual member's gift. This year I received a lovely coffee mug.

Aren't the flowers beautiful? |
That night I used the new mug for the first time. It fit well in my hand and kept my tea warm. However, the bottom was so wide that it did not fit in an IKEA cork coaster. The tapered bottom of my old BFF mug does.

It's fun to get a new mug. I have quite a variety of different shaped mugs, probably more than I use. Cute mug.
ReplyDeleteWhen we received the Fiestaware mugs I purged most of the other ones, although as you can see some have started to creep back in.
DeleteLove the flowered mug maybe you can get a new coaster? -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about that!
DeleteI love a mug that will keep my coffee hot!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteHi Kathy :) I'm visiting from Shug's blog and thought I would say hello. I have way too many coffee mugs, but only drink out of two currently. There's just something about the right one, when you find it, that keeps you going back to that same one. In fact, I bought two of the same mug and drink from one in the morning and the other for my afternoon cup :) I'm now a new follower of yours :) Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! I'm thrilled that you 'get' my mug fixation.
DeleteYou have some really cute mugs and cups...I don't really have that many, because I am so particular about my coffee cups. Strange isn't it? I have to have my coffee, tea or hot chocolate HOT, so I mostly use a yeti cup.
ReplyDeleteNow that there's only two of us in the house we actually have way more than we need.
DeleteThat was a nice gift to receive, but old favourites are hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteI like the coffee cup more than some of the other premiums I've received.
DeleteWe all have our favourite mugs, don't we? The free gift one you received is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers
DeleteI see so many coffee mugs everywhere and I love them. I don't have a inch of space in my cupboards for them anymore though!
ReplyDeleteI know better than to buy any more mugs.
DeleteLove your mugs! I've learned the thinner the mug pottery, the better it holds the heat and for longer! Doesn't sound right, but it's true! Take it from a tea lover!
ReplyDeletePNW Vickie, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I will have to test it out!
DeleteRelatable. My wife has like 8 favourite mugs.
ReplyDeleteSo one for every day of the week plus an extra :-)
DeleteI've got about 40 or 50 cups I could drop off if you want some more.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks, but I bet the people at the thrift store of your choice would like them.
DeleteI have one big mug that I drink tea and coffee out of. It's my favorite because it's so big. I like your mugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteKathy, I have (and use) the same Ikea coaster and you are so right in that it is too small for a couple of larger coffee mugs. Like yourself, I do have a couple of favorites, one for tea and another for cocoa.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of coasters, but other than the IKEA one I can never find one when I need it.
