Adventures In Wrapping

Today Hubby Tony and I went to the store to pick out a present for Granddaughter Gee, whose birthday is next week. We decided on a llama-shaped floor puzzle, which will be easy to mail.

When it came time to wrap the present, I had to figure out what to do about the missing corner of the box. Before cutting into the roll of wrapping paper I experimented with tissue paper, then after I had a system figured out I moved on to the real thing.

Except for a little too much cellophane tape I didn't think the result was too bad.

But I hid most of the tape by making a tag out of a section of a decorated envelope and attaching it to the angled edge. When the wrapping was done I stuck the present in a mailing bag. Now it's ready to go across the country to California!

    1. I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, but I've never figured out a place to leave an in-progress one in the condo. Probably just as well, because I can see our current cat batting the pieces around when we're not looking :-)

  6. Cheering from the cheap seats. I have transferred from elaborate wrapping to bags. My hands won't do it any more. That looks elegant. She should be thrilled.

    1. For local presents I am also Team Gift Bag, but I have learned that they don't pack as well for mailing as something that's wrapped.

  7. Puzzles are such great gifts for kids...no technology...feeling challenged but also success...and the experience can be repeated many many times. Well done, Grandma.

  8. Great gift!! Puzzles are fun for everyone. When my niece was here with her little ones, we did puzzles. It was funny when the 7-year-old had to tell me that I was wrong and she gave me the piece I was looking for. Talk about humbling.
