Maybe He'll Be Cuddling Soon?

It was a little over a week ago when I told you about Foster Cat Pimento's latest medication issues. Last Friday he completed the courses of ear drop and antibiotic wipes, but still continued to give me the stink eye every time I got close to him.

This afternoon I was stilling on the bed working on my laptop. The cat sauntered in, looked at his favorite spot at the foot of the mattress, looked at me, and then back at the bed. After a quick cat brain calculation he jumped up and settled in.

Ten minutes later I decided to take a nap myself. As I was stretching out, Pimento woke up enough to make sure I wasn't getting ready to grab him, then went back to sleep.

  1. cats have a mind of their own and need to accept you on their own terms--sounds like your are good for him though

  2. Some like Peopling and some don't, my Granddaughter's Male Cat, Eli, Hates everyone but her, he tolerates me coz I'm his Staff. *LOL* He is NOT a Cuddler but allows only her to pick him up. It is said that mean Cats are just fearful ones and that if you squint your Eyes and get down to their level instead of being higher than they are, it's more calming, narrowing of Eyes is like a Cat's Smile.

    1. It's frustrating because we had made a lot of progress with him.

  3. Cats are so persnickety. I’ve had a total of 10 or 11 cats in my lifetime and each one had distinct personalities and idiosyncrasies. That’s why I love cats. You never know what you’re getting and you love them anyway.

  4. Oh my yes. My grandkid's cat never forgave me for accidentally swatting her. Distrust, disgust, artfully portrayed. You are going to have to work hard to be forgiven.

  6. Cats are opportunists. Pimento has forgiven you really, but just doesn't want to show it.

    1. I agree. There have been a couple of times when he will come up to me, but then realizes what he's doing and turn away.

  8. Even he could not continue on resisting napping on that bed with you there! I hope he continues to defrost around you - but Debby is so right. "You never know what you’re getting and you love them anyway."

  10. Oh Pimento, he's decided you are the enemy and is shunning you.
