Because it's hard to coordinate schedules between multiple families, Hubby Tony
and I did not travel to see our California kids and grandkids for either
Thanksgiving or Christmas. However, we just shifted our trip to January.
Tonight we returned from 12 fantastic days away. Now that the grands are in
school it's harder to plan weekday activities with them, so we spent a long
weekend at each household, and planned activities for me and Tony during the
work week.
My sense of adventure adventure started on the flight from St. Louis to San Jose, when I figured
out that as a Southwest Airlines Rapid Reward Member I could now get free WiFi on
the plane. I felt like a big shot returning texts and emails that popped up on
my tablet while I was reading my e-book. The feature worked better on some
flight segments than others, so I was glad I didn't need to rely on it to get
things done.

Glad you had such a good time!
ReplyDeleteThat must be fun, traveling to see the family.
ReplyDeleteIt is, but I wish they lived closer :-(
DeleteSounds wonderful seeing the family! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteFun. I quite love how you call it "adventure adventure." Might steal that.
ReplyDeleteSteal away!
DeleteGlad you got to spend time with family in California!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting....and to think, all through the Holidays, you and Tony had something big to look forward to in January.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was nice thinking about what we were going to do after we put Christmas away.
DeleteI'm glad you had a a nice trip, makes January better. I have never flown Southwest, is it really better now? I have always avoided it for 3 reason. Here are two that you didn't ask for. 1. it's not the cheapest and never has been. That is a joke that those in the industry always knew. 2.. Also it's like a bus if I can't pick a seat, I'm not going. LOL
ReplyDeleteI sound like I'm 4. So has it improved, inquiring minds wanna know?
Actually, for where we fly (into San Jose) Southwest IS the cheapest, and the savings are definitely worth the hassle of getting in line for a seat. That's probably more a reflection of the airport in St. Louis, where Southwest is the 500-pound gorilla.
DeleteBut things are changing next month. No more queuing for a seat. Will that be better? I'll let you know in a few months.
Time with the family is time well spent.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Always!
DeleteSounds like you came in and out during a good time--after the holidays and before the Super Bowl. You must have been in the same general vicinity as us for a short time! Maybe one of these times we can coordinate a meetup somewhere along the road.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea where the Super Bowl was going to be, but when I found out it was in Santa Clara I realized we dodged a bullet with our trip.
DeleteI would love to meet, but it seems like there's never enough time.
That's wonderful that you were able to take the trip.
ReplyDeleteIt's what we have to do to see the grandchildren.
DeleteGreat fun!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you had free WiFi during flight and you didn’t have to wait for responding later,it’s luxury indeed 👍
