Winter is sticking around, and I've been doing my darnedest to find something positive in each day, but it's hard when there's more gloom than sun and the temperatures
are stuck way below freezing.
In order to get exercise I've walked at the mall way too many days the past
week. Today Hubby Tony and I branched out. We left early for church and drove to Menards, a big box hardware store, for two things-steps and furnace filters.
I buy filters that last for three months. When we reached
the correct aisle I was pleasantly surprised to find the filter type I
usually buy was on sale. And on top of that there was a rebate. I normally don't bother with
rebates, but this time jumping through the hoops of filling out the form and mailing it
in my four filters will get me eight dollars to use on a future purchase.
It has been so cold here this winter, u bearable.

DeleteMy daughter has been telling me how freezing it's been in the Chicagoland area. I told them that's why we never returned to Hawaii for a visit in winter. It felt depressing when we returned to Chicago.

Delete$8.00 minus $.78 for the stamp. But if this were me, I would lose $8.00 because I would never get around to mailing in the rebate form.
ReplyDeleteI have a bag to carry things to and from the car. While I'm out running I throw in things like receipts and rebate forms, and empty the bag when I get home. This morning I filled out the form and put it in an envelope to mail.
DeleteHere, in Oregon, almost no rain in January, a lot of sub freezing nights. Finding a bargain is a big huge boost to the brain!!! I found one yesterday at Bimart in cat food.

ReplyDeleteI keep a furnace filter reminder in my tickler file. After I put in a new one I move the reminder forward three months.
