It's easy to think of big things to be thankful for, but today I challenged
myself to come up with smaller everyday things.
-
Something in the morning that brings me happiness -My first sip of hot, freshly brewed coffee
- A sound that brings me peace -The sound of running water
-
Something in my home I'm thankful for -The wide selection of clothes in my closet
-
A scent I enjoy -Sauteed onion and garlic, ingredients in a dinner Hubby Tony was
cooking
-
Something that makes my life easier -
The high speed router in my condo, which lets me access the internet
and any information I want at any time.
-
Something in nature that makes me smile - The crunch of leaves beneath my feet (and the light brown leaf
that is smiling at me :-)
-
A moment that brought joy today -Foster Cat Smokey Joe cuddled up on my lap
What an excellent topic and question list for a post! I enjoyed reading your answers. And Smoky Joe -- awwwww!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI enjoyed reading all of those. And onions ... oh so good.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE onions!
DeleteThat first sip of the morning is something I crave as I take the dogs out. My mouth waters in anticipation! The falling leaves are a melancholy reminder of chilly days to come. I love this post!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI vote for that first sip of hot coffee in the morning. I like your small things to be Thankful for!
ReplyDeleteI didn't start drinking coffee until I was in my 30s; now I don't know what I would do without it :-)
DeleteAs I walk through my day, I stop and say thanks for so many things. Like this morning--my hot shower to wash my hair: I have hair to wash, I have a shower in my own bathroom, I have hot water with the turn of a faucet, I have lovely soft clean towels with which to dry off, I have an amazing blow dryer that just keeps going and going. Okay, it's only 8 o'clock in the morning and I have already got a long list of thanks....
ReplyDeleteI try to live in gratefulness.
DeleteWhat a great idea, reminding us Little Things Matter! Always!
ReplyDeleteI may have to borrow this idea.
Please do!
DeleteA great idea and I am with you on a lot of these small precious moments. I had a friend who used to challenge us to spend five days of posts on gratitude, getting wider each time. It was fun. I should do it again. Wishing you more and many moments.,
ReplyDeleteYou had a very wise friend.
DeleteYou are living your best life Kathy! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a nice Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI did :-)
DeleteSmokey Joe is wonderful. I like him already. A lot.
ReplyDeleteHe is quite the personable guy.
DeleteSo many things we can be Thankful for... Happy Thanksgiving. I've got The Daughter watching a Martha Stewart Tutorial to cook the Turkey again, so she remember how, and she invited a Single Friend of hers to join us and be her Sous Chef, so the Girls got it covered and I can sit back and stay out of their way.
ReplyDeleteYour meal sounds like the best of both worlds to me.
DeleteI agree with every single one of those! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the focus on the positive. I think we all need to look for the good.
ReplyDeleteI try to focus on the positive, and for the most part I succeed.
DeleteSo so so with you here...the little things are the big things.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you put it.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Kathy. God bless.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is great...and these small items are great. Even the smallest thing can be a huge blessing..
ReplyDeleteI think it's all in the attitude you bring.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving leftover day.
ReplyDeleteBest day of the year! All of the dishes, none of the work.
