It's been several years since significant snow has fallen here. The meteorologists have been excitedly hyping this one up for almost a week...what type of precipitation would the area get? How much? When would it start? Social media was full of memes
Hubby Tony and I went to church last night. The streets department was asking people to stay off the roads I had absolutely no reason to leave the house so I did what they said. I slept in, lingered over the newspaper after breakfast, and spent a lot of time reading. Pimento the Foster Cat was annoyed that he got breakfast late, but later in the day was thrilled to have two people around the house to cuddle with.
Mid-afternoon the precipitation temporarily stopped. Although I didn't go outside to verify, it looked like there was about four inches on the ground. The forecasters say that things will start up again, dump a couple more inches, then leave the area. A plow went down our street a couple of times, but so far the condo sidewalks haven't been shoveled. I have nowhere to go, and as all of tomorrow's commitments have been cancelled I plan on enjoying another snow day.

Stay put; stay safe. It's stunning in Olathe. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteWinter weather is always pretty, if you're not out in it.

ReplyDeletecold... snowy... windy and lots of accidents! Staying in and reading!!
ReplyDeleteI've alternated between 'sitting down' things (like reading) and 'active' things (like straightening).
DeleteIt makes sense to stay indoors in the warmth and safety - enjoy your snow day!
ReplyDeleteIt's turning into snow days (as in two, and maybe more).
DeleteSince you don't have a house anymore, do you want to come over and help shovel my driveway? You know, just to remember what you're missing? 😁
ReplyDeleteIt's 3:30 pm. The street is clear, but still waiting for someone to come shovel the driveway (an incline up to the street). Starting to get stir crazy.
DeleteI tripped on a snowflake the other day.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That takes real talent :-)
Deleteit is 22 degrees here in East Texas, which means we are never prepared for these kind of temps. At the store, all the Milk was gone...none to be purchased. Stay warm and cozy...hope you do have a good read and can just relax through this Winter storm.
ReplyDeleteThe grocery store we went in on Saturday night had weird things gone; plenty of milk and bread but no onions or potatoes in the bins.
DeleteYes, you poor guys are getting hammered right now! Staying home with Pimento is wise.
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to getting back to real life after the holidays, but Mother Nature had other plans.
DeleteBefore a snow storm our supermarkets are cleaned out of staples and sometimes we hardly got snow. Now in Florida I only watch the weather forecasts on TV but don't have to worry about snow Love all your funnies!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't eat much bread and had all the milk we needed, but on my last trip to the store I bought a dozen eggs...because I needed them for baking.
DeleteI've seen a bit about the storm in your part of the country but not much, just haven't seen the news for awhile. I thought it was today or tomorrow the big snow/cold hits, but I am often mistaken.
ReplyDeleteSnow over the weekend, and now serious cold for several days. Maybe more snow next weekend.
DeleteI am envious of people who get snow. We never get it. Although I probably wouldn't like it if we did often. Wise to be sensible.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should experience snow at least once in their life :-)
DeleteWe hardly ever get snow here in Las Vegas. We've had snow once every 6 years or so and not even a lot of it.
ReplyDeleteI can see snow falling in the mountains, but it surprises me that the city of Las Vegas would get it.
DeleteWe get snow often. We did have some for Christmas but it is gone now. I guess the storm went South vs North. Sometimes it is nice to get a snow day. Just not too many.
ReplyDeleteI'd be worried about the books too, haha. Where I live (Western Canada), we have snowstorms fairly often, but today? It's plus 2! (Um, maybe like 35 F?) For us, it's practically Spring!
ReplyDeleteIn Hawaii, people would be stocking up on toilet paper. I do remember those freezing days in Illinois.
