Moving towards the stairwell, I figured out that the vertical lines came from the balusters.
The sunlight was coming at just the perfect angle from the window on the landing between the garage and the first floor so it could travel up the stairwell and reflect onto the wall. If it was any other season the tree outside of the window would have blocked the light.

Sunshine's very own post it notes. Very cool looking.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cool looking also.
DeleteI'm going to need another picture straight down from the side bannister. I can't figure out where the stairs are and where the window is. Unless you're floating in the air taking the picture.
ReplyDeleteI am at the top of the stairs heading down to the first floor. From there the stairwell switchbacks. However, the set going down to the garage has a landing that faces east, and the window is on the landing.

ReplyDeleteOften sunlight through windows create such patterns in our home too.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Am looking forward to spring :)
ReplyDeleteThat makes two of us!
DeleteOh sun!!! I can't wait for spring!
ReplyDeleteThe kicker is that the day I took the photo it was sunny, but chilly enough to wear my heavy coat. To me, it will be Spring when there's sunshine and milder temperatures
DeleteOh, how I love the sunshine that puts those shadows all over the walls! I've been posting them on a regular basis on my Instagram account. It's been a very dark cold winter here. https://www.instagram.com/dkzody/
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what the power of sunlight can do.
DeleteIsn't that peculiar! Good eye.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I thought it was unique.
DeleteAnything having to do with sunshine is alright!
ReplyDeleteYou have an artistic eye. Are you a photographer?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Other than cell phone photos, no. I just try to be aware of what's going on around me.
DeleteIt's lovely when that sort of thing happens.
