And then, after all the kerfluffle about the delivery attempt notice that turned out to be a scam text, I was extremely leery when Hubby Tony announced that he received an email with the subject line:
"USPS Expected Delivery on Saturday, May 23, 2026 arriving by 9:00pm 9200190312735697768933"
that said we were scheduled to get a package delivered today when we hadn't ordered anything. But the message turned out to be real; the package was a dose of flea and tick preventive medicine sent from the online store of the vet that Foster Cat Smokey Joe last visited.

A surprise package! Just like forgetting what you ordered only free.
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteWell, at least these were both legit package deliveries!
ReplyDeleteHow can you ever tell.
ReplyDeleteI know....
DeleteA kerfluffle for sure!
ReplyDeleteI would be nice to be able to rely on messages and deliveries, but there's always someone in the background trying to scam. Being vigilant can be exhausting.
ReplyDeleteFortunately I don't receive very many packages, so this one threw me for a loop. However, as long as we have Smokey Joe we will get the medicine mailed to us monthly, so I will know what is going on next time.
DeleteIt's a confusing world, thanks to scammers of all sorts.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out a host of paypal IPN emails that led me to pretty much delete most of my website, were a scam.
DeleteThat's too bad.
DeleteI hate how we have to be suspicious of most anything these days.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteI received a notice today that another one of my packages is going to my daughters address. I'm happy with this because it is supposed to be there tomorrow and if it were going to the PO...it would be tues or wed before I could get it.
ReplyDeleteThere certainly are more options now than decades ago.
DeleteI am really glad I don't order anything online, as I go directly to a store to get what I need. If an item such as a leather recliner is purchased, I pay for the delivery directly in the store and they bring it to me at the stipulated time they mention on the receipt.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I agree. I try to buy in person as much as possible. Not everyone feels the same as you or I though :-)
DeleteNavigating scams and potential scams is practically a part-time job. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteAnd an unpaid one at that!
DeleteWhat a mix up. And so many scams. I called the PO once to ask about their text. The person said, "We do not have everyone's email or phone #."
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about it that way! Now I will quickly send any text from the 'post office' directly to trash.
DeleteI'm often surprised when an order turns up. Glad all is well.
ReplyDeleteGlad that all ended well and the package was delivered, even if a bit late. These days, we all have to extra vigilant about scams and good you were not taken in.
