The medicine had an almost immediate effect. Soon the cat was zooming from one end of the condo to the other and hunting/attacking his toys with a vengeance. The other day, instead of running around the couch to quickly reach the other side of the room he jumped over it-barely stopping at the top.
As much as I enjoy watching Smokey Joe in action, his new physicality has led to one tiny issue. I had already gotten used to not having lap space to put my laptop on, and did any important work at my desk in the office. Now the cat can also jump up there and demand my attention.

Smokey Joe is clearly loving his new home and people!
ReplyDeleteThis cat was born to solicit human attention.
DeleteAre we presuming he's not on a constant feed of opiods at this point? He wants attention and your warm laptop device. He'll need his own to sit on, next to your's, for a Christmas present. Reliable info sent to you from my Grandcats. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThe medication is a NSAID. I will have to ponder your Grandcats recommendation :-)
DeleteOh it so cute!

Teresa, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
DeleteHe has brought a different dimension to your life. He's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWe were talking the other day about how every cat we've owned has had a unique personality.
DeleteIt might be a good idea to foster a couple of 6-month old kittens, looks like he would like some playmates
ReplyDeleteOur condo HOA wouldn't allow it :-)
Delete"do you have games there? treats there? wouldn't your hands rather be petting me?!" - smokey joe, probably!
ReplyDeleteHe definitely can't get enough pets!
DeleteMy goodness he's so black you can hardly see his eyes! He's cute.
ReplyDeleteNot the best photo, because he's backlit by the computer screen, but I think it will be difficult to get good ones when it comes time to upload photos to the shelter website
DeleteMy grandkid's cat would fit right in there. Her best one was to sit on a scarf I was knitting while I was knitting it. Not the wool ball, no, the whole dern scarf.
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteOh no... sounds like Smokey Joe is wanting all of your attention. He is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteHe is a gorgeous cat. The black cat that used to hang out here (Mousey Tongue) seems to have disappeared. Her kitten, Lucy is now hanging out with Gray Lady and her kitten, Polo. Marco has not been seen in a few days. That makes me worry. Polo has become quite affectionate, but he still lives most of his life outdoors since I have nowhere to put a litter box that the dogs would not find. The original cat, Garfield is still in residence, though.
ReplyDeleteHa, his eyes say, no work to-day.
ReplyDeleteHe is telling you to stop working and relax a little.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Ah but what a good reason to stop work!
