Last night the booth organizer and I were emailing back and forth about the details. I asked her for the address. She gave me a location. Google Maps recognized the address, but said it was in a completely different part of town.
I did some internet research on the event and found out that the actual address needed to include an S (as in SOUTH). With that information I was able to find it just fine.
(And when I pointed out the discrepancy to the organizer, she apologized for forgetting that detail.)
Very smart of you -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGood thing you're an excellent detective!
ReplyDeleteI needed to find out how long it would take me to get there.
DeleteShame on Google for not knowing exactly where you wanted to go. It's spy network is slipping.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Especially since I had already used the search engine to find out more about the event.
DeleteLittle things mean a lot . . .
ReplyDeleteDetails are important.
Deletewow I would have been lost for sure
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I knew enough about the city to realize that the original directions were sending me the wrong way.
DeleteAmazing that one letter can make such a difference.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?
DeleteWho would think that the one letter would make a difference...I guess in Cities it does though..I live in a small country town and everyone knows everyone and locations.
ReplyDeleteI've been in smallish cities where streets radiated out from the town square. On all four sides they had the same name, but uniquely designated at N, S, E, or W. That drove me crazy!
DeleteLittle details make all the difference.
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteOne letter or one number can make a lot of difference. It is nice you caught the address issue and sorted it out. Your feedback likely saved others a lot of confusion as well.
ReplyDeleteWith incorrect directions I never would have made it to the event on time.
DeleteReminds me of the episode of The Office where Michael and Dwight ended up driving into a pond, thanks to GPS. It's so true how one letter or number or random extra period can switch things up. For example, it's SO important to not include a period after your website - I learned that the hard way.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you! I didn't know about the period. Thanks.
DeleteSo true.
ReplyDeleteMy husband runs into that kind of stuff all the time while doing Uber eats deliveries.
ReplyDeleteI can see where people would forget to include their complete address...
Deleteyou are very smart to figure it out :)
