Please Do Your Research Before Sharing!
Several Facebook friends have shared this.
However, mixing hydrogen peroxide and vinegar can create peracetic acid, which
is toxic.
No one takes the time to figure out if things are true or false before the
pass them on.
A few years ago, a lady in our community made the mistake of mixing cleaning supplies together. This did not go well and as a result she now has lung damage. this is something all people need to pay attention to.. thanks for sharing.
Mary, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! The closest I come to mixing things together is the vinegar and water mixture I use to clean the bathrooms :-)
It sounds so true you are right we have to fact check more -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the solution made sense, but then started to wonder why I hadn't heard about it before.
DeleteOne reason I am no longer on Facebook. Just the stupid things people automatically believe and share.
ReplyDeleteI usually have no problem scrolling right past things, but this one was so problematic I've commented on it every time I've seen it.
DeleteI hope people find the truth before they make that toxic recipe.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I'm trying to do my tiny part.
DeleteThe internet says NEVER mix cleaning products. I found this for mold, https://www.concrobium.com/about/
ReplyDeleteAnd it probably only took you a couple of minutes (or less!) to find it.
DeleteTreat all 'advice' with caution.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great moral to the story!
DeleteThat is awful, people sharing crap.
ReplyDeleteI know!

ReplyDeleteHow awful!
DeleteI agree completely. You have to check and double check anything that gets sent to you these days. There's so much misinformation.
ReplyDeleteI get tired of being the person who checks things out, but I guess someone has to.
DeleteHaving no chemical credentials, i am afraid to mix household chemicals.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeletePeople don’t think.

You're right; especially people who are in crisis mode because of a natural disaster.
DeleteInformation should come with warning labels too, shouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteGood idea!
DeleteThank you for sharing!

DeleteI'm off to check out your blog place now.
Remember, we once had a president who thought bleach was the cure for COVID. The things people believe!
ReplyDeleteI had completely forgotten about that. Sad, isn't it?
DeleteMold is a huge concern after flooding, I knew that bleach is not a solution but not sure what is. Mixing these two ingredients sounds dangerous.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, they need professional mold remediation!
ReplyDeleteThey do, but can you imagine the wait for one?
DeleteYou just did a huge public service!
ReplyDeleteThanks :-)
DeleteSurely if it was toxic DJT would have been selling it already?
ReplyDeleteHA!
