Later in the day I had to leave the house to run some errands. Knowing that the cats like vegetation I asked Son Donald to keep an eye on the vase whenever he was in the kitchen. He did, but sadly he couldn't be in there the entire time. I came home to this:
The arrangement was moved to the fireplace mantel in the family room.
Five years ago today: Are You Who I Think You Are?
I guess these are safe to eat, but funny story! And what a beautiful gift they were!
ReplyDeleteHis next hairball throw up was pretty colorful, but other than that there were no other issues.
DeleteOh my gosh, pets are too much.
ReplyDeleteThey ARE an endless source of amusement.
DeleteMy cat regularly prowled the mantle, because he could make the mighty leap. After he broke a cherished clock (big bang in the middle of the night), we cleared everything. If he continued to investigate, we never heard it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe our mantel is higher than normal, because the cats have never been able to make it up there. I've watched them get on a shelf of one of the built-in bookcases that flank the fireplace, but the angle is such that they can't get a good jump in.
DeleteOh this is too funny. No hiding for the culprit! Our dog ate some petasl on the flower that adorned one of my flip flops. I refused to pitch the pair (shoes, not the dog) and trotted about with a three petalled shoe and a five petalled shoe for two summers. Nobody noticed. If they did, they didn't comment.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like something I would do (although when I was young I would have been mortified that my shoes were no longer perfect and tossed them).
DeleteCats are equally good to ruin something pretty or wind up in a classic viral video. Sometimes all at once! Glad your kitty didn't get sick ... and at least you now have a story to tell!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm glad the cat didn't get sick. And, since he can't read my blog, he can't complain when I write about him.
DeleteBusted!
ReplyDeleteYEP! No way to deny.
