They used this on burgers and hot dogs. The instructions are very sparse. She suggested chopping everything in the food processor.
6 cups of cut up green tomatoes
3 cups of chopped onions
3/4 cup of jalapeno peppers, deveined and seeded and chopped
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
1/4 c or less of salt
2 tsps. black pepper
Cook uncovered 15 minutes

I also found a Taste of Home recipe online that used red and green peppers. Since I am not too fond of jalapenos, I would like to try it next time I grow tomatoes (growing tomatoes is a real challenge for this Midwesterner transplanted to Texas).Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08221803762075376069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4320167217139525439.post-10914374654539144582017-10-25T20:28:57.595-05:002017-10-25T20:28:57.595-05:00Linda, thanks for the suggestion. My mother-in-law claimed that wrapping tomatoes in newspaper and put in a cool, dark place encouraged ripening. Don't know if this works for the small ones too.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08221803762075376069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4320167217139525439.post-21600338064913338232017-10-25T17:44:36.967-05:002017-10-25T17:44:36.967-05:00I enjoy cooking, so I'm looking forward to the...I enjoy cooking, so I'm looking forward to the challenge of using all the 'greenies' up.Kathy Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10593849691667606991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4320167217139525439.post-82596509364121680952017-10-25T17:43:58.738-05:002017-10-25T17:43:58.738-05:00I HATE wasting food!I HATE wasting food!Kathy Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10593849691667606991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4320167217139525439.post-42146934317759477512017-10-25T09:41:24.958-05:002017-10-25T09:41:24.958-05:00Oh, the work our little projects entail!Oh, the work our little projects entail!Joanne Noragonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16601010208310707750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4320167217139525439.post-71536162181619623072017-10-25T08:23:27.965-05:002017-10-25T08:23:27.965-05:00Yikes, indeed!
