I'm Having A Moment!

You may remember that back in 2025, Dictionary.com named 6-7 (six-seven) its Word of the Year.

This morning I was talking with Son Tony and family. Because today is my natal day, the topic of how old I was came up. When I said I was 67, the kids all broke out in a cacophony of "6-7" that went on until they ran out of steam.

    1. It doesn't mean anything! The term is mainly used as an inside joke by
young people and to annoy adults.

  5. Back in the sixties, seventies young people were out protesting the Vietnam war, for civil rights...now we have drivel and pablum.

    1. I agree, but I think the target market for this slogan is children and tweens-too young to be protesting.

  6. Happy birthday. I wonder who decides on the Word of the Year? Could we bloggers influence it in any way??

  9. 67! You are so young! Enjoy the 60s. Best decade ever.

As for that 6-7 craziness, I thought it came from a little joke the elementary kids would tell me: Why was 6 so afraid of 7? Because 7 ate 9. And then they would laugh uproarasly.

  12. Ha! Although I don't teach full-time anymore, I know kids who would be just as delighted by this. Isn't it great when people feel delighted?

  13. My oldest daughter and two of her grands visited with us not long ago, aged 6 and 4. They liked to sing-song 6-7 over anything! Her newest granddaughter arrived yesterday. They will be living with her for the time being to save money for a home of their own. I told her she should charge them rent and then just put that money into a savings account for their down payment. They will be surprised at how much money will accumulate. Of course, it would be nice if it made them appreciate the help and support she provides.

    1. We charged Youngest Son rent when he was working full time and living at home. He didn't know we were saving it for him, and was appreciative of the chunk of change he received when he moved out.
