I love to do things like this, too...Good for you!! I love to do things like this, too. I spend hours walking around barefoot and I do love the feeling of connection with the ground that you get. The European Chafer beetle. The grubs who thrive in poorly maintained lawns (like mine - lots of buttercups and too much moss) are nirvana for crows, raccoons and skunks. The crows peck at the grass tossing it here and there while the raccoons and skunks peel back the lawn. Nightmare on all counts. Long story short - we put down new soil and grass seed and i've been getting my feet wet a fair bit this past week. I'd also forgotten how good it feels.
